Waterproofing of wall during construction

Seepage and dampness on walls is the common problem we face in our day to day life. Generally we wake up when the problem comes and we search for waterproofing expert who can resolve the issue. At that stage, it is called post treatment. If that is a simple case two things have to be done

1. Crack repair(Likely to be present there)- Several different types of chemicals, tapes and methods are out there in the market, Different waterproofing agencies adopt different chemicals and procedure. Some are technically correct, some are not.

2. Waterproofing coating- Lots of waterproofing chemicals for exterior wall for post treatment case are available in a market(About which we will discuss later)

Above discussion is about a post treatment that means ; you have your building already constructed and you need waterproofing of wall
Right now we are going to throw some light on " WATERPROOFING OF WALL DURING CONSTRUCTION". As we already know that bricks of all types i.e. Red bricks, Fly ash bricks, AAC blocks etc, all have a property of water absorption. Some have higher and some lower.

Because of this absorption property when crack development occurs on plaster of wall, bricks come in contact of water and it leads to damp spot inside the building.
So, if there some thing exist which actually reduces the rate of  water absorption of bricks, can solve the problem.
"Cement based polymer modified brick masonry coating " is a chemical which comes in a powder form. That is to be mixed with water on site and to be applied on brick masonry before plaster. It is a brush application. Two coats have to be done. This chemical drastically reduces the water absorption of brick. If in future any crack develops on plaster, this layer of chemical act as a barrier for water ingress. After plaster it will be protected from harsh environment and will not deteriorate with time.
