There are many reasons due to which cracks appear on R.C.C slabs and various types of precautionary measures are there that can be taken while the slab is casting. We will discuss them later in my further postings. Right now I want to throw some light on the treatment of cracks which has already been appeared, due to whatever reason it may be.
These cracks may exist in different length and of various width, from 1 mm to 5 mm or more
whatever is the type of crack. One thing will be common, that is "there will be a longitudinal movement at the crack" because of the fact that concrete has expansion and contraction property; Thermal expansion and contraction; vibrations on the structure due traffic or vehicle traffics.
Keeping in mind the movement on crack, the treatment material to be used must be flexible to bear that movement. Here i would like discuss about such a material which is flexible and easy to apply.
